Iron Complex

£19.95

Iron deficiency is the most common nutritional deficiency worldwide — and iron supplements have a reputation, often deserved, for being hard on the digestive system. Apothecary 27's Iron Complex addresses both problems. A gentle, highly bioavailable form of iron, paired with Vitamin C, Magnesium, and Vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin — formulated to support iron levels and red blood cell health without the constipation and discomfort that put so many people off iron supplementation altogether.

NOTES FROM OUR NUTRITIONIST

Iron supplementation sounds simple, but the form it comes in makes an enormous difference — both to how well your body absorbs it, and to how well you tolerate it. The majority of iron supplements on the market use ferrous sulphate or ferrous fumarate: inexpensive iron salts that are reasonably well absorbed but notoriously hard on the gut, frequently causing constipation, nausea, and discomfort. For many people, these side effects are enough to abandon supplementation entirely — which rather defeats the purpose.

Our Iron Complex uses iron bisglycinate: iron bound to the amino acid glycine, in a form that is both highly bioavailable and demonstrably gentler on the digestive system. It is the form I consistently recommend to customers who have previously struggled with standard iron supplements, and the results speak for themselves.

The supporting nutrients are equally considered. Vitamin C is included because it meaningfully enhances iron absorption — converting iron into its more readily absorbed ferrous form in the gut. Magnesium citrate supports healthy bowel regularity, further reducing the digestive burden that iron supplementation can bring. And Vitamin B12, included here as methylcobalamin — the most bioavailable and biologically active form — addresses the wider picture of red blood cell formation and energy metabolism that iron alone cannot complete. It is a particularly important inclusion for those with low B12 levels, vegans and vegetarians, or anyone with absorption concerns.

One capsule daily. A two-month supply. No unnecessary additives, no compromises on form or dose.
