Homeopathy tips for keeping well in November
November – the month when we celebrate Guy Fawkes Night. Not everybody enjoys this festival however, as some children (and pets!) are terrified of the loud bangs. Phosphorus can be of great help here, while Coffea can calm them if they become over-excited by events.
Also, unfortunately, burn injuries can occur during the festivities. A dose of Arnica can be given for the shock, then Cantharis to relieve the pain until emergency help arrives. For very superficial burns Urtica Urens should give relief either in tablet form or as a cream.
Many people are susceptible to the cold and damp weather that we get at this time of year and subsequently suffer from joint and/or muscle pain. There are many homeopathic remedies that can help here. These are a few of the more common ones:
Rhus Toxicodendron - for pains that improve with movement, such as the stiffness felt after getting up in the morning , or when joints feel hot and swollen.
Nux Vomica – also for pain and and stiffness that is worse around 4am, causing tossing and turning in bed.
Dulcamara – for back pain that is worse from stooping, and also exertion in cold damp weather.
Don’t forget, Dominic and Sylvia hold a FREE drop-in clinic every Thursday morning if you would like more help with these, and other common complaints – no need to book!
